acknowledged standard of competency present in many countries
worldwide; ICDL Argentina is
an enterprise of Usuaria,
established under licence of the ECDL
Foundation.

The International Computer
Driving License, known internationally as ICDL, is a certification amply broadcast in Europe as ECDL.
Its success is based on the
increasing requisiteness of the users of personal computers to
validate their practical knowledge to more dependable ways and
purpose.
The certification thus obtained
becomes vested with international effective binding quality. |
The dependability of the
testimonial and compliance with standards thereof, are guaranteed within
our country by the (SADIO),
“Sociedad Argentina de Informática e Investigación Operativa”,
(Argentine Society of Informatics and Operative Research) and of (Usuaria),
“Asociación Argentina de Usuarios de la Informática y Comunicaciones”
(Argentine Association of Informatics
and Communications Users).
Both institutions guarantee
compliance with international procedures on behalf of ICDL Argentina upon the granting of testimonials. |
The ICDL
License (named in this way due to its association with the
concept of a driver’s license as in the case of qualifying to
drive a vehicle) is obtained by sitting an exam for each module,
conforming to a series of 7 exams which are:
- Concepts of Information
Technology (IT).
- Using the Computer anf File
Managing
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheets
- Database
- Presentations
- Information and Communications
There also exists a partial
license, known as ICDL Start which is achieved by passing four of the
above mentioned seven modules. |
The ICDL License and the ICDL Start fulfill a double social purpose making
easier on the one hand the possibilities of the use of the
carriers thereof and on the other hand, through incentive of the
IT literacy drive within the communities of the countries where it
has been used.
The ICDL concept is also
a highly effective means for the companies to certify the
practical knowledge contained within their employees’ personal
computers.
The examinations are prepared
by the ECDL Foundation, a non profit organization located
in Dublin, Ireland, which object is to put into circulation the ICDL
License throughout the world guaranteeing internationally the
quality and homogeneity of the testimonials issued. |
